Assignment - Beer & Food Pairing at Kapow! Noodle Bar

KEC_9175
They say when it rains, it pours. I wouldn't say that my food photography work is at "pouring" status yet, but the light mist is certainly picking up! <THANK GOD!>

Wednesday night Kapow! Noodle Bar held another of their very successful alcohol (sometimes sake, sometimes wine, sometimes beer) & food pairings. This week it was beer from two very well known Florida breweries; Cigar City Brewing from Tampa and Funky Buddha Brewery from Oakland Park.

As you can tell from the menu, the brews and food were a match made in culinary heaven. After drooling all over myself while I photographed the 6:00 service I was fortunate enough to attend the 8:00 service with Berto. I'm not a beer drinker by any stretch but I truly did enjoy each course pairing (especially the 2nd course - mama loves her cheese). I know everyone at my table loved learning about the beers and how they interact with each component of the dish. I also found it interesting to learn about the pairing's development process. Turns out that the dessert was the only dish that Kapow anted up and challenged the breweries to match. By the end of the night I was full (both my SD card and my tummy), a little buzzed and excited for the next event.

I'm sure the next pairing event is already in the works. Be sure to subscribe to Kapow!'s mailing list as tickets typically sell out extremely fast. In the meantime, enjoy some of the images from Wednesday night.

You're too kind, Vaughan... I really appreciate your kind words. I just tried to stay out of the crew's way. They're a well oiled machine and I didn't want to disrupt the flow.

Same time tomorrow??
