Pursuit of Happy: Local Eggs

With Easter just a few days away I've always started planning what I'm going to do with all the colorfully tinted, hardboiled eggs that my family and I will be making. Yes, I'm a 31 year old woman that still loves to dye Easter eggs.

On the topic of eggs, after weeks of contemplation, I finally purchased a 1/2 dozen of the local, pasteurized eggs from The Urban Farmer. They're colorful and speckled and simply gorgeous. So gorgeous, in fact, that I had to stage an impromptu photo shoot on Sunday morning before making my breakfast. Alas, one of the stars of the shoot didn't make it to breakfast... I dropped one of my highly prized eggs on the floor.

Despite the firmer shell, inside there wasn't much of a difference. That said, I'll probably start adding a dozen to my bi-weekly purchase. Enjoying a local, farm fresh egg versus the alternative is worth the price to me.
