Ritzler Family Portraits

I truly do enjoy the light of an East Coast sunrise - it engulfs you in warmth. I love waking up early, going to the beach and watching the rays paint the sky with an assortment of fall colors. It's, in my opinion, the best light. I suppose that's why it's my favorite time of day to shoot.

Earlier this summer I had the pleasure of working with the Ritzler family. Sara and I attended high school together and recently reconnected at our 10 year (that's right... I said 10 years!) reunion. I was elated when she reached out to me to have a family portrait taken. Her sister and brother-in-law were flying in from New Mexico to surprise their father and since all 3 children had not been together in ages, an updated family portrait was obviously required.

What a fantastic time... I literally giggled non-stop! Everyone seemed at ease in front of the camera (I'm sure the sound of the crashing waves didn't hurt) and had a wonderful time with one another. Jokes were cracked and hugs were shared and it was evident that this is a very close and loving family. Everyone cares deeply for one another and note even the distance between Florida and New Mexico can change that.

I had an amazing time with such a beautiful family and can’t wait to photograph more families just like them.
