The End of an Era

I, like many, attended the midnight showing of Harry Potter early this morning. My original plan was to nap beforehand but unfortunately “Dead Like Me” season 2 felt that was a bad idea… turned out I didn’t need it. The movie was so captivating I could have competed in a triathlon afterwards and still had steam to spare. There were twists I wasn’t expected and had the most perfect little present of an ending. I won’t share any details other than that.

One of the main reasons for attending a midnight showing is the fans. It’s always interested to see the masses of people and the costumes, makeup and adornments they wear. I contemplated sneaking in my DSLR to photograph the fan fare but didn’t want to risk getting kicked out of the theater. Instead, I took blurry, dark images with my cellphone camera (ah, the wonders of technology). There wasn’t too much in the way of costumes but the masses were out in full force.

I slept until 11:30, woke up for a few hours and then slept until 7. My day off from work was shot but it was so worth it. Now I look forward to the next midnight movie I’ve got lined up, the final Twilight movie! No more Harry Potter, no more Twilight – what’s a girl to do?!
